Cornelia
When the first railroad went through the area, Rabun Gap Junction was just a watering spot. In 1887 the few area residents enlisted the help of Judge Pope Barrow to secure a depot for the junction and renamed the newly formed town Cornelia after the Judge's wife. The largest town in Habersham County, Cornelia includes several shopping districts, including the historic downtown area. Visitors can see the historic Big Red Apple statue at the depot, which includes a small railroad museum.
