North Georgia Technical College President, Dr. Gail Thaxton, welcomes the
group to a Business Resource Center Lunch & Learn Workshop. The panel of
local experts for the topic of the day listens as she explains the commitments
of both colleges to this community service.
Piedmont College, North Georgia Technical College and the Chamber partnered to provide services and resources to business owners/operators/employees (small and large), municipalities and government, and non-profit organizations in Habersham, Banks, Rabun, Stephens and White Counties. Assistance is available from students and faculty at both colleges as well as Chamber volunteers with the specific expertise needed.
One-on-one assistance has been delivered and is available in the areas of market research, business plan development and pro forma projections, leadership, technology recommendations, marketing and much more. Requests for assistance should be made through the Habersham Chamber at firstname.lastname@example.org or
by calling 706-778-4654.
Additionally, in 2012 quarterly workshops were delivered on timely topics. Services and assistance are available at no cost to the participants.
The experience and training from both colleges in specific skills as well as management and leadership are available to businesses in the five counties to support economic development and help companies succeed and be more competitive. This win-win partnership affords the students opportunities for “real world” experience while providing free assistance to the businesses and industries.
