Networking is a major way of promoting business, and the Chamber provides many opportunities for networking.
Business after Hours
Ten Business-after-Hours events are scheduled each year, January through
October. These events are held on the fourth Thursday of each
month at 5:30 p.m., and attendance averages about 100 per event.
Chamber members host these in their businesses to highlight and promote
their companies. New members get the opportunity to introduce themselves
and their business at a Business after Hours. There is no charge to attend
these events. Although these events are for Chamber members, visitors
who are thinking about joining the Chamber are welcome. 2013 Calendar
Leads Groups
Leads Groups are available for networking and promotion of business. To
serve various schedules, three different groups are available – a morning
group and two noon/lunch groups. There is no charge to attend; but
participants pay for food ordered when the group meets at a restaurant.
- First and third Tuesday mornings of each month, 7:45 a.m.,
- First and third Tuesdays of each month at noon,
- First Wednesday of each month at noon,
- Hawg Wild Barbecue, Clarkesville
Seminars and Workshops

Seminars and workshops—such as Business Resource Center Lunch
& Learns, Existing Industry meetings, and specific training—afford
opportunities throughout the year for networking. Always be sure to
have business cards when attending any of these events and do not be
shy about introducing yourself and your business.
Executive Women's Organization
The Executive Women’s Organization, chartered in 2012, provides a networking
opportunity for women business owners, executive management,
professional women such as doctors, lawyers, etc., and elected officials.
This is also a support group for women who share similar challenges and
issues at the same level of business operation and intended to promote
economic development.
Business Before Hours
In 2012, a Business before Hours was started to serve those members whose
schedule did not fit with Business after Hours. Business before Hours is hosted
in a Chamber member’s business from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. This generally
serves a different group from the Business after Hours; however, Chamber
members are encouraged to attend both events if possible. There is no fee to
attend a Business before Hours, and visitors who are thinking about joining
the Chamber are welcome.
