Habersham Chamber of Commerce and Habersham County Farm Bureau partnered to take the Habersham Central Youth Leadership class and selected FFA students to the State’s Capitol and Department of Transportation Navigation Center on February 23, 2010. Commissioner Tommy Irvin, Representative Rick Austin and Senator Jim Butterworth addressed the group.
Habersham County Youth Leadership
Habersham County Youth Leadership is a leadership program for high school juniors and seniors that enables students to develop leadership skills, while increasing awareness of their community.
Habersham County Youth Leadership offers students the opportunity to work with adult community leaders learning successful community awareness, diversity, teamwork, business and social etiquette and leadership skills.
Habersham County Youth Leadership Objectives:

Acquaint students with community needs, resources and factors that influence the future development of Habersham County.

Encourage students to be aware of their potential and develop leadership skills.

Cultivate student interest in volunteer community involvement

Provide opportunities for a diverse group of students to interact with each other and community leaders and decision makers.
