This group is attracting youthful business owners, fresh management talent and up and coming company supervisors who are interested in making a difference in our business community and making the right connections. Individual Membership
Chamber Member Fee: $35.00 / year (If your company is a member of the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce, you qualify for this membership rate.)
Non-Member Fee: $55.00 / year (If your company is not a Chamber member, you can still join HYP at this non-member rate.)
Individual Members will receive:
Free entrance to all social events and seminars held throughout the year.
A monthly newsletter e-mailed directly to you, which contains information on upcoming HYP and community events, as well as a wide variety of other topics affecting today's young professionals.
Most of the work, and fun, in HYP happens in our committees. We welcome your input and fresh ideas so we hope you'll find one or two that interest you, contact the committee chairperson, and start making your unique contribution to HYP. Finally, you can show your support of HYP and our goals by attending various community events and volunteering for the various projects that HYP believes make Northeast Georgia a fun place to Live, Work, Play, and Shop!
We are also working to prevent the migration of educated young people to larger cities (often referred to as "brain drain") and to encourage those who have left to return to Northeast Georgia.
Economic Development Committee
The Economic Development Committee's mission is to retain and attract business in Habersham County:
- Continued expansion of the Passport Rewards discount program.
- Improve member use and awareness of Passport Rewards.
- Increase lobbying efforts upon those individuals and organizations responsible for local, county and/or state economic development efforts with the objective of increasing efforts to bring national retail businesses to Habersham County.
- Consider the development and benefits, of a HYP “enhanced” membership, at a higher membership fee but with additional benefits and features.

Events Committee
The mission of the Social Committee is to arrange social events for HYP members, and to make members more aware of fun activities in Northeast Georgia, including social, sporting, and cultural events. The committee's emphasis is on the "play" portion of HYP's mission of making Habersham a great place to live, work play, and shop. For more information or to volunteer, contact:
Outreach Committee
Do you have an interest in giving back to your community? Would you enjoy spending some free time having a positive impact on the lives of those around you? Then the Outreach committee is the place for you...
The Outreach Committee is committed to transforming Habersham County by developing and supporting initiatives in the areas of education, literacy, hunger relief, housing, healthcare and economic development. The Outreach Committee offers you an opportunity to demonstrate in a very tangible way your concern for our community.
Committee members and volunteers seek to achieve this mission through:
- Reading Program: We are looking for volunteers to read to students in the Habersham Elementary schools for 1 hour per month. This effort will be tied with a book drive to enhance the library resources within those schools. Each volunteer reader is asked to provide the age appropriate book they will be reading that day. Each of the books provided will be donated to the school. Our goal is to establish a library of books and educational resources for these students.
- Job Shadow Day: This event will allow students to shadow local business leaders and get a taste of the working world, as well as specific careers they may wish to explore.
- Monthly Volunteer Opportunities: These events could include: Habitat for Humanity, Circle of Hope, Bowl for Kids, Toys 4 Tots, etc.
Website Committee
The mission of the committee is to communicate with the membership and the public via our new website. The committee plans to continually expand the features and usefulness of the web site. For more information on the website or to volunteer contact:
Ambassador
The main mission of the Ambassador Committee is to join with companies to engage their employees in HYP, thus giving them another reason to not leave the area (termed Brain Drain). A company pays for a certain number of HYP memberships for their employees. In return, the company not only engages their employees in the community, but HYP gives the company publicity for doing so on the Habersham Chamber website, in the weekly e-mail, and at Social events. Instead of the usual $35 membership fee, there is a discount - the more members the company pays for, the deeper the discount. Marketing and Public Relations Committee

By registering with HYP, you are enabling us to stay in touch with you so that we can keep you informed of all the exciting things happening with HYP and in Habersham. By paying your dues you are helping to support HYP's ongoing activities including our outreach events, city beautification projects, economic development initiatives, member communications, social occasions, and charitable functions. In addition you will receive the HYP Passport which offers you discounts at various area businesses and access to HYP events. Where else can you have this much fun for thirty-five bucks while making a contribution to the growth of your community?
